About Klaus Mosthaf
His research field is the modeling and analysis of flow and transport processes in soils with a focus on contaminant transport in fractured geologies. His work closely combines field work (like pumping tests and tracer tests) and modeling to enhance the conceptual understanding and predictability of contaminant spreading in fractured aquifers. Models of different complexity are used for the planning and interpretation of field work, and the field data is used to test and develop modeling tools that can be employed for fractured geologies. Part of his work is the development of a wiki about contaminant transport in fractured limestone aquifers (https://limestone.env.dtu.dk).
Klaus Mosthaft studied Environmental Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and did his doctoral degree at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems. Since 2014 his is working as a postdoctoral researcher at DTU Environment, Technical University of Denmark.
