Future focus on research
Holding a Research Professorship will allow Rainer Helmig, spokesman of SFB 1313, to focus primarily on his research for the next 2,5 years. The courses he teaches will thankfully be taken over by colleagues at the institute. Nevertheless, he will not withdraw completely from teaching but continue to take over parts of courses and supervise final theses.
For Rainer Helmig, the conferment of the Research Professorship represents a recognition of his scientific achievements. He hopes that during the forthcoming months he will be able to focus primarily on the research topic of "Porous Media" and devote himself intensively to his doctoral students, the Collaborative Research Center 1313 and the international scientific exchange.
