Holger Class, SFB 1313 principal investigator of research project C04 and part of the management team, had the great pleasure to interview our SFB 1313 guest and one of our international partners Al Cunningham, professor of civil engineering at Montana State University (Bozeman) and researcher at the Centre of Biofilm Engineering, concerning biofilms. During the interview, we learn how the cooperation between the University of Stuttgart and Montana State University began. We also discover how the two workgroups complement each other in their research on engineered biofilm applications, with the experimental work in Bozeman and the development of simulation models in Stuttgart.
